USA - VERMONT Description: A breeding, training and educational facility dedicated to the preservation of historical Vermont horse breeds. It maintains a herd of 40-60 horses and has an established internship program. Competes in several horse shows per season plus occasional local events. Focus is mostly on raising and training family pleasure horses, but also train some show horses. Duties: Daily routine of cleaning, feeding, assisting in breeding, foaling, and overall management of 40-60 horse herd. Interns are assigned 4-8 horses to work/prepare for work and provide for their general care. Interns will get experience through observation and assistance to the Trainer and Director and through involvement of all training steps. Interns will also act as tour guides one day per week and will get questions from visitors. Skills and experience required: Some experience with horses and familiarity with riding Ability to relate well to the public and have a mature manner of representing themselves 3-12 months Accomodation included
